I’ve been watching the pageant since I was a kid and truth be told, I really think I’m going to be star-struck when I meet her. It’s such an honor. I’ve been practicing my waves and trying on different tiaras. I’m sure my inner Miss America is going to come out.”

Fabric, color, pattern, and texture are among the great loves of McCarroll’s life. The greatest part of his job is manipulating those elements into functioning products for people to use and enjoy. He finds inspiration for his work in many different things, and always has been drawn to the vastness and beauty of nature. He also is fascinated by how other humans utilize nature so industriously.
“I love that Hamilton Mall has a very eclectic mix of shops,” says McCarroll, who also teaches at his alma mater, Philadelphia University, the former Philadelphia College of Textiles and Science. “It offers an array of well-known international chain stores sharing the same space with some really great independent specialty shops. This makes for a very unique shopping experience. “
Kravco Company LLC, developer and manager of Hamilton Mall, is in the midst of an 82,000 square-foot redevelopment project, the most recent of which will be completed in August – Zona Fresca Mexican Grill, an award-winning casual Mexican dining experience. The Mall also has been repaved and newly expanded as part of the project.
“This is indeed a very inspiring time for the Hamilton Mall,” says McCarroll, who also studied at the London College of Fashion. “I fully understand the concept of growing a brand and as the brand grows, more and more thrilling opportunities present themselves. I am very much looking forward to that exhilarating growth. I have seen the expansion plans and all I can say is, ‘Wow!’ Hamilton Mall really is ‘Making Waves!’”
