We were very lucky to be invited to Congresswoman Carolyn Maloney's Spring Gala Celebration at The Water Club overlooking the East River.

There was a great musical performance by “Bethany & Rufus” (Bethany Yarrow & Rufus Cappadocia) as well as many well known New Yorkers who attended. We saw John And Margo Catsimatides, Liz Krueger, Liz Holtzman, John Liu, Todd Shapiro, Real Estate legend Dottie Herman, Trudy L. Mason and Joe Crowley even performed his rendition of Sweet Caroline. There were so many more wonderful New Yorkers, too many to name.

Once again, The Water Club's Buzzy O'Keeffe hosted a great event overlooking the East River of New York City.

President Obama Endorses Carolyn Maloney

Stating that “New Yorkers are extraordinarily lucky to have her fighting for them in Congress,” President Obama recently endorsed Congresswoman Carolyn Maloney for re-election.

"I'm proud to endorse Carolyn Maloney for re-election and to have her working with me for the change America needs. New Yorkers are extraordinarily lucky to have her fighting for them in Congress-- Carolyn has not only delivered again and again for New Yorkers, she's written groundbreaking legislation that is making a lasting difference in the lives of millions of Americans,” said President Obama.

"Whether it's expanding access to health care, protecting consumers from credit card abuses, or restructuring our intelligence system, she's crafted innovative solutions to the problems our government-- and so many families face. Carolyn is tenacious, energetic, and reform-minded—someone with good ideas and the know-how to get them done," continued the President.

“I am thrilled to have the support of President Obama,” said Congresswoman Maloney. “It was an honor to work with President Obama to achieve the historic healthcare reform bill, and I look forward to continuing to work with him in securing healthcare for 9/11 first responders, and creating thousands of more jobs for New Yorkers as we move forward with construction of a 2nd Avenue Subway and East Side Connector.”

The endorsement by President Obama comes in the same week Congresswoman Maloney’s re-election was endorsed by the 2.5 million-member New York State AFL-CIO.
