I am a Groupon Hooker. Complete whore. From Living Social to Amazon Local to KGB Deals, Guilt City, Bloomspot, Travel Zoo and many others; including the mother ship herself- Groupon. Y’all I’m bat shit crazy over livin’ life via’ these sites and their daily deals.

You can jump from an airplane or learn to fly the airplane from which you just jumped. Get certified to scuba dive or spend a day at an amusement park. Take a sunset horseback ride or take a course in couples massage. There are adventures to bowl and boat and travel and spa and eat at tons of top (and not so top) places. Get a chiropractor. Or an acupuncturist. Or a dentist. Or just white teeth. Grab a TV or a food processor. You can spend a month in boot camp, and cross fit, and a boxing ring.

And I eat this shit up. I’ve gotten certified, flown, jumped, traveled, boated, fished, rode, safaried, boxed, Botoxed, massaged, eaten and drank. Not only are these sites and their deals the catalyst for doing shit I would’ve never done - or had the courage to do (IE stepping out onto the ledge of a tiny plane while 10,000 feet above the Pacific Coast) - but I’ve saved so much freakin’ money on each of these experiences. Many of which, I ain’t ever gonna’ forget.

I happen to love the art scene in Los Angeles as it provides a completely separate west coast experience from the cliched entertainment industry that saturates LA. And today, my boyfriend and I initiated a year’s membership at LA’s Museum Of Contemporary Art at a huge discount thanks to Google Offers. And, consequently, we got a sweet private tour of the highlights of their permanent collection - which was one of the richest museum experiences I’ve ever had.

Years ago, Oprah started me on a nighttime ritual with keeping a mental “gratitude journal”. As I doze off, I look back on each day and make a mental list of 5 things that I’m thankful for. It’s a habit I recommend to everyone. And livin’ life Groupon Style certainly makes the listing a lot easier, more varied, and heck of a lot more fun.

So, thanks Groupon. And all the sites you’ve spawned. You continue to make my life varied and far from mundane. And that’s the way I like livin’ it.
