JEAN SHAFIROFF'S STYLE WITH FASHION TASTE

Jean Shafiroff, philanthropist, has many passions spanning from her charitable interests, to fashion and style. As an actively involved volunteer leader of a number of New York City and Southampton charitable causes, Jean continues to combine her love for fashion and philanthropy. Jean Shafiroff was the subject of Iké Udé’s photograph in a recent Hamptons showing and was featured by the Leila Heller Gallery of New York City. The portrait was displayed with additional featured works by artists including Rachel Lee Hovnanian, Ran Hwang, the collaborative team Kate Eric, Kezban Arca Batibeki, Khosrow Hassanzadeh, Kim Chun Hwan, Hadieh Shafir and Firooz Zahedi.



Jean’s hands-on involvement with the multiple causes she supports is indisputable. She possesses a remarkable ability to connect different charitable groups with interested people and resources. Jean wears many hats as a board member, chairwoman, underwriter, and hostess of numerous charity events. In 2010 and 2011 she chaired the Southampton Hospital Annual Summer Gala, which raised $1.7 million and $2 million, respectively. Jean’s board memberships include The New York Women’s Foundation, JBFCS, French Heritage Society, The Couture Council, Lighthouse International Advisory Board, and Southampton Bath & Tennis Club Charitable Fund.



As a board member of The Couture Council, which supports the museum at the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) in New York City, Jean hosted and underwrote The Couture Council’s private tour of IMPACT: 50 Years of the CFDA at the Museum at FIT and a following luncheon at Hotel Americano in February, 2012; in September 2011, she was one of many underwriters for the Daphne Guinness exhibit at The Museum. This September, Jean will serve as a vice chair of The Couture Council luncheon honoring famed fashion designer, Oscar de la Renta. Jean has been dazzling red carpets throughout the city and Hamptons in some of her favorite designers including, Oscar de la Renta, Carolina Herrera, Victor de Souza, Fabiola Arias and Nanette Lepore.
