Mark McGwire Has The Juice

Baseball legend Mark McGwire admitted to using steroids in the season he hit a his record 70 home runs and throughout his Major League career. McGwire, whose 583 home runs are eighth in major-league history, said in a huge statement, that he was sorry he used performance-enhancing drugs and that he wished he had never played during the steroid era. It came almost five years after he refused to discuss drug use before a U.S. congressional panel. “I remember trying steroids very briefly in the 1989-90 off season and then, after I was injured in 1993, I used steroids again,” he said. “I used them on occasion throughout the ‘90s, including during the 1998 season.” McGwire’s admission, in a statement on the St. Louis Cardinals’ Web site, was cheered by Baseball Commissioner Bud Selig. “The so-called ‘steroid era’ -- a reference that is resented by the many players who played in that era and never touched the substances -- is clearly a thing of the past, and Mark’s admission today is another step in the right direction,” Selig said in a statement.

Editors Note: Mark McGwire is a cheater plain and simple. He used drugs to win games. His records should be removed from the books. He took advantage of the American public trust. For Baseball Commissioner Bud Selig to cheer someone that cheats, is a disgrace. Mark McGwire should not be hired to coach and Baseball Commissioner Bud Selig should resign.
